Diet And Optimal Health – Cher Fauvèl
Many people would like to improve their diet for optimal health but they
have concerns, about exactly what a healthy diet is and what foods they
need to include. So let’s take a look! -
Firstly, we have been wrongly advised for many years about diet, we do not need as much protein as we are led to believe, we all have different needs, so one diet may not suit us at all. For optimal health it is important for us to learn first about how our bodies work and what food types suit us individually.
Our Bodies Are Amazing.
Our bodies are incredibly complex and clever, but we take this for granted, if we feel unwell, we just mope about and wait for our body to do the work to recover, with no regard for the amazing job that it does.
I truly wish we would all learn about this wonderful vehicle that carries and supports us through our lives. When we understand our body, it is so easy to stay healthy, we simply have to understand what our body needs.
I believe this should be taught in schools, we should start to learn about our bodies from the start, imagine what powerful beings we could be if we understood everything about how we worked and what we need to do to support ourselves and gain optimal health. This would be far better value than a lot of the subjects taught!
We Are All Different.
Not everyone is suited to the same diet, we have different needs and the way to learn what is right for you, is to try different ways and listen to how your body feels. Your body tells you constantly what it wants. If you feel tired and sluggish your diet is not right for your body type, if you feel energised and alert, with healthy skin, nails, hair etc, then you have it right!
We have been taught that a healthy diet is a combination of protein, fat, vegetables and carbohydrates, true – but all on one plate is not the best idea. For many this is not a healthy way to eat, it is a heavy combination that our bodies have to work hard to digest. If you feel tired after eating this way, then it is not for you, you are tired because you have put too much pressure on your digestive system, it has to work too hard.
Some people do amazingly well by following a combination diet that suits their bodies.
Learn About You And Your Body.
To make a diet choice without understanding the body and the nutritional needs is foolish. We don’t have to acquire certification, but to understand the basics is sensible.
So first pay attention to your body and how it feels after eating. Learn about how your body works inside.
I was talking with a guy yesterday, he was telling me about how some medication he was taking worked, I was stunned – he had got it back to front. I find it astounding this man is in his 70′s and he has lived all his life in this vehicle we call the body with absolutely no knowledge of how it works! The majority of us are like this, don’t you think that is ridiculous? When we are in a place that feels unsafe we want to get out, but we live in this body that we don’t know?
