June 25th, 2010Lymphatic Drainage Massage – Kill The Cellulite!

By ~ Cher Fauvèl
Lymphatic drainage massage is a quick and clever way to stimulate the lymphatic system in order to drain the build up of waste fluid from cells in the body. It is a well known and very effective treatment for cellulite and water retention, we can do this ourselves by hand or there are many specially designed anti-cellulite machines on the market today.
The treatment is also used on days when you just feel sluggish and cant get going. This system has no pump of its own so when you feel under the weather or toxic it will be slow, the massage can kick start it back into action and help you to get you going again, it will make you tingle and feel alive, your skin will be like silk!
The lymphatic system plays an important role in regulating the immune system and removing toxins from the human body. it is made up of ducts and vessels which circulate lymph fluid to cells in order to remove waste, toxins and viruses. You know how you get those little purple rings on your lower legs sometimes, especially in the winter? get your circulation moving again!
Sometimes our lymph system gets blocked, so our cells cannot receive fresh blood from the circulatory system and so lymph system is unable to remove waste and toxins. When this happens fluid and toxins begin to build up in the affected area causing swelling, and then we feel sluggish and drained. All this build up will eventually cause the appearance of the dimpled bumpy skin we call cellulite, fat, fluid and toxins accumulate and just cannot escape!
A French physician named Dr Emil Vodder first developed the lymphatic drainage massage in the 1930’s, he used gentle massage stokes all towards the heart, he realized this stimulated the lymphatic system and helped to release waste and restore the feeling of wellness. The improved circulation done frequently removes the fluid and toxins to leave the fibrous tissue soft and flexible again, skin eventually will become smooth again. Of course the better your diet the better your results, remember the whole picture, this wont help if you continue to eat heavy processed foods which take forever to digest, help your body to help itself! The massage will take you a few minutes before your shower in the morning and you will feel wonderful!
